TGRTC bus rams into divider, 15 suffer minor injuries

Hyderabad: At least 15 passengers suffered minor injuries after a TGRTC bus rammed a divider on the National Highway at Kansanpalli of Andole mandal of Vikarabad district on Friday.

According to the police, the bus belonging to Narayanakhed depot was carrying 50 passengers to Jogipet. The driver lost control over the steering and rammed the divider.
The police reached the place upon receiving the information and shifted the injured to the Jogipet hospital for treatment. Police suspect overspeeding might have caused the mishap. Traffic movement on the highway was halted for a few minutes.
Six arrested, 14.5 kg ganja seized
Hyderabad: The task force on Friday arrested six persons and seized 14.5 kg ganja worth `3.9 lakh from them. The arrested were Hazari Dinesh Singh, Ajit Nayak, Jishesh Mali, Susheel Singh, Mukesh Singh and Shiv Singh. Dinesh Singh of Karwan was arrested several times in drugs cases and once held under the PD Act in 2021. They procured the ganja from one Kunu of Galimera, Gajapati district, Odisha.

Kukatpally police book case of theft

Hyderabad: The Kukatpally police booked a case of theft of 80 tolas of gold from Jayanagar and began invesgitations on Friday. Kukatpally detective inspector Venkatesh said the complaint was lodged by Madhusudhan, a builder, who was informed of the theft by his his watchman.
The victim had gone to a hospital in Miyapur at 5.30 pm on Thursday after locking his house, for his daughter’s delivery. At around 1 am, the offender broke into the house, located on the third floor, while the watchman was asleep and stole the gold and cash of `2 lakh. The watchman noticed that the lock was broken in the morning and called up Madhusudhan.
Four booked for filling debris in Khajaguda lake
Hyderabad: A case was registered against four persons in connection with filling of debris in the Khajaguda lake within the Raidurgam police station limits on Friday.
According to the FIR, the accused persons have been identified as Kiran, and three drivers. The complaint was lodged by P. Shashank Reddy of the irrigation department.
Shashank stated that the filling of debris was taking place in the buffer zone, full tank level and walking track of Khajaguda lake.
He was initially informed telephonically that some JCBs and tractors were involved in dumping of debris, but could not find any vehicles near the tank boundary.
When HYDRAA teams conducted an inquiry November 27, at midnight, they found that the vehicles are working far away from the lake, laying of pipes for a gas pipeline and dumping the material in the lake land.
They found that the vehicles bearing registration numbers TS28 H 0791, TS08 GG 3551, TS27 6764 with Kiran, the supervisor, were dumping soil and debris in the lake. The vehicles are in the custody of HYDRAA teams.

Pvt company employee loses Rs 2.95 lakhs to fraudsters

Hyderabad: A 32-year-old private company employee here lost `2.95 lakh to fraudsters who claimed to be from the Mumbai cyber crime branch police and accused him of money-laundering from his account in a particular bank.
When the victim denied he had any account in the bank, the fraudster made a WhatsApp video call and claimed multiple accounts had been opened in the victim's name. Ghe fraudster alleged that 25 suspicious accounts were created under the victim’s name across India, with a total of ₹25,00,000 credited to one of these accounts.
The fraudster insisted that if the victim transfer the money so that they could verify the transactions. If he was in the clear, the amount would be refunded within 15 minutes. The fraudster warned that this was a highly confidential matter involving several influential individuals, including bank managers, politicians, and police officers. They claimed a "truth test" was necessary to lift an arrest warrant allegedly issued against the victim.
The fraudster sent several documents, including an ID card, a copy of the arrest warrant, and an acknowledgment letter purportedly from the Mumbai Crime Branch and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). Under pressure, the victim made two UPI transactions and two IMPS transactions as instructed by the fraudster to "pass the test."
After completing these transactions, the fraudster assured the victim that the arrest warrant would be revoked. Despite the assurances, the money was never credited back. After discussing the incident with friends and family, the victim moved the police.
Five arrested for posing as fake cops
Hyderabad: The Adibatla police arrested five persons who posed as police officials, including an MBBS dropout turned real estate agent. The conspiracy first started last year.
On the day of the incident, Raccha Narayana received a call from a woman who invited him to the Metro City Venture in Bongulur to view plots. Once there, Narayana was abducted by Dhanaraju and his gang, who were dressed in police uniform.
They forced him into a car, with their faces covered in black masks, and drove him around for 45 minutes, took him to a secluded location, where they threatened him at gunpoint, accusing him involvement in prostitution activities.
The gang demanded `3 crore as ransom and finally settled at `20 lakh.
They coerced him into signing blank papers and non-judicial stamp papers as a guarantee which he purchased in December 2023. They even threatened revealing this to anyone would cost him as they are police officers and set them free.
Narayana registered a case with Adibatla police in November 23. Police found that the victim was first called by Makkala Bhavani, beautician in a local spa. The case further detected the involvement of Dhanraju's nephew Shiva Kumar and friends Shekar and Srikanth.
