TGPCB and ESCI Host Workshop on Construction and Demolition Waste Management

TGPCB and ESCI conducted a workshop to strengthen implementation of the Construction and Demolition Waste Management Rules, 2025.

Telangana Pollution Control Board (TGPCB), in association with the Engineering Staff College of India (ESCI), organised a one-day capacity-building workshop on the Construction and Demolition (C&D) Waste Management Rules, 2025 on Friday.

The workshop was inaugurated by special chief secretary Jayesh Ranjan. Officials from local bodies, development authorities, government departments, academic institutions and recycling industries attended the event.

Speaking at the workshop, Jayesh Ranjan said that the programme would strengthen the implementation of the new rules and improve the state's waste management and cleanliness. He added that proper management of construction waste would help prevent illegal dumping in lakes, protecting them from further damage.

He stressed the need for coordinated efforts between urban local bodies, development authorities, pollution control boards and the construction sector to promote recycling and reuse.

Technical sessions covered the new rules, stakeholder responsibilities, recycling technologies, Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR), and city-level action plans, followed by a panel discussion on improving C&D waste management.
