HYDERABAD: The Telangana Medical Council (TGMC) alleged that it had found practitioners providing skin-related treatments at V Care Clinic in Banjara Hills, during surprise inspections at dermatology clinics here. The council said the inspections were carried out in the presence of TGMC member Dr Vishnu Kadali, vice-chairman Dr Kiran Kumar Thotawar and HRDA member Dr Jalagam Vijay.
According to the council, officials found that skin treatment procedures at the outlet were allegedly being carried out by three dental practitioners and two homoeopathy doctors. TGMC officials stated that cases would be registered under the National Medical Commission (NMC) Act for allegedly practising beyond their permitted qualifications.
The council said that action may be initiated against the registered medical practitioners associated with the clinic for allegedly encouraging unethical medical practices. Following an inquiry, disciplinary proceedings could be initiated under medical ethics regulations, including suspension from medical practice.
Further, the TMC has recommended to the Hyderabad district collector and the district medical and health officer (DMHO) that V Care Clinic be sealed and that legal action be initiated against the management for the alleged violations. The council said further action would be taken based on the findings of the investigation.
