The Commission has also completed the weeding-out process in respect of 35,068 disposed case records pertaining to the territorial jurisdiction of erstwhile Andhra Pradesh
Hyderabad: Telangana Human Rights Commission (TGHRC) has completed the process of weeding out disposed case records in accordance with Regulations 31 and 32 of the Andhra Pradesh State Human Rights Commission (Procedure) Regulations, 2013, as applicable.
In respect of records pertaining to the territorial jurisdiction of Telangana, the Commission, as directed by its Chairperson, has completed the weeding out process in respect of 16,730 old or disposed records, comprising 13,089 HR case records and 3,641 SR case records, pertaining to the eligible period as reflected in the weeding register, the TGHRC said in a public notice.
Further, the Commission has also completed the weeding-out process in respect of 35,068 disposed case records pertaining to the territorial jurisdiction of erstwhile Andhra Pradesh, covering the period from August 12, 2005 to March 20, 2021, as directed by the Chairperson.
Thus, the weeding-out process has been completed in respect of a total of 51,798 disposed case records pertaining to the two categories. In accordance with the procedure approved by the Commission, the original complaints and final orders in the cases concerned have been retained, duly recorded in the weeding register and systematically preserved. In respect of the 35,068 records pertaining to united Andhra Pradesh, the original complaints have also been retained as directed by the Chairperson.
The remaining records and documents in the weeded-out files, except the records specifically ordered to be retained, are proposed to be destroyed in accordance with the prescribed procedure.
The Commission has accordingly decided to proceed with the destruction of the weeded-out records after publication of the public notice. Any person having any objection, claim, or requiring any clarification with regard to any petition or case record proposed to be destroyed may submit the same in writing to the undersigned within 15 (fifteen) days from the date of publication of the notice.
The representation shall, wherever possible, contain the relevant case or SR number along with year of filing or disposal, name of the complainant and other particulars, along with supporting documents, if any.
If no objection, claim or request for clarification is received within 15 days, the Commission shall proceed with the destruction of the weeded-out records in accordance with the prescribed procedure, without any further notice.
