TGHRC Takes Suo-Motu Cognizance of Nagarkurnool Food Poisoning Incident

Hyderabad: Telangana Human Rights Commission (TGHRC) has taken suo-motu cognizance of the news report related to food poisoning incident at Tribal Welfare Boys Gurukul, Mannanur village at Amrabad mandal in Nagarkurnool district on Thursday.
Around 26 students fell ill after consuming breakfast. The Commission has called for a detailed report from the Nagarkurnool district Collector on the circumstances leading to the incident.
It also sought to know the present health condition of the affected students, the inquiry findings, the food and water sample analysis, the action taken against those responsible, if any, and the preventive measures taken to prevent recurrence. The matter has been posted for report on August 11, 2026.
