TGHRC Takes Suo-Motu Cognizance of Elderly Person’s Disappearance in Miyapur

Hyderabad: The Telangana Human Rights Commission (TGHRC), headed by Chairperson Dr. Justice Shameem Akther has taken suo-motu cognizance of a news item published in a vernacular newspaper regarding the alleged disappearance of a 75-year-old man after he reportedly fell into an open storm-water drain near Vaishalinagar Railway Bridge, Miyapur

The Commission also took note of the recurring incidents involving unsafe storm-water drains in Greater Hyderabad.

The Commission has called for detailed reports from the Commissioner, Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC), Hyderabad and the Commissioner, Hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Protection Agency (HYDRAA), Hyderabad by August 25.
