TGHRC Takes Serious Note Of Allegations On Cyberabad Police For Illegally Detaining Person

The Commission asked the Cyberabad Police Commissioner to submit a report and posted the matter for May 5

Hyderabad: The Telangana Human Rights Commission (TGHRC) has taken a serious note of the allegations against the Cyberabad police for detaining a person without any case.

It asked the Cyberabad Police Commissioner to submit a report and posted the matter for May 5. The Commission gave these directions while responding to a complaint from a woman Alivelu, a resident of Almasguda, alleging that two days ago the police personnel from Kadthal police station in Mahabubnagar district took her son Mekala Kalyan into custody from her house without any case being registered.

The police later called her from her son's phone and stated that they were neither going to produce him before the court nor they would reveal where they were taking her son.

“They (police) have informed us that they brought my son for inquiry and he is in their custody. The police are not furnishing any information and they have kept my son into their illegal custody. Subsequently we tried to approach on April 29 but due to lack of information from the police, we could not proceed further and I believe that police are using third degree methods against my son,” she said in the complaint.
