TGHRC Takes Cognizance of MEO Staff Salaries Issue; Seeks Detail Report

Hyderabad: The Telangana Human Rights Commission (TGHRC) Chairperson Dr. Justice Shameem Akther has taken cognizance of a complaint by office subordinates working in Mandal Education Offices (MEO) across Telangana, alleging that despite over two decades of service and the mandate of G.O.Ms.No.60 dated June 11, 2021 prescribing Rs.15,600 per month, they are being paid only Rs.11,050.
Similarly placed employees in other departments receive higher remuneration. The commission expressed concern over violation of the right to livelihood and dignity.
The issue raised by the complainants requires a detailed examination by the commission, so as to address their socio-economic conditions and to live with dignity in the society. Under these circumstances, a detailed report from the Director of School Education and Ex-Officio State Project Director, Telangana Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (TSSA) in Saifabad, is necessary to conduct an enquiry into the subject matter of this complaint.
The commission further requires the government order under which the complainants are being paid Rs.11,050 per month towards remuneration. It called for a detailed report from the Director of School Education and Ex-Officio State Project Director, Telangana Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (TSSA) by the next date on January 5, 2026.
