TGEJAC Leaders Meet CM Revanth, Seek Resolution Of 6 Major Demands

State government employees, teachers and pensioners on Thursday urged Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to resolve their long-pending demands, including for implementation of the second Pay Revision Commission (PRC), release of pending Dearness Allowance (DA) instalments and restoration of the Old Pension Scheme (OPS).

Telangana Employees JAC (TGEJAC) leaders V. Lachi Reddy, Maram Jagadishwar and S.M. Hussaini (Mujeeb) met Revanth Reddy at his residence and submitted a representation seeking action on six key demands.

They demanded that the government obtain the report of the second PRC headed by retired IAS officer Shiv Shankar and announce the PRC with 51 per cent fitment before Dasara. They also sought immediate release of at least three of the six pending DA instalments and payment of employee and pensioner bills cumulatively exceeding ₹10,000 crore.

The delegation proposed raising the monthly release towards pending bills from the present ₹1,000 crore to ₹2,000 crore, with ₹1,000 crore each for employees and pensioners.

The JAC also sought scrapping of the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) and restoration of OPS through a dedicated committee, effective implementation of the New Employees Health Scheme (NEHS), and completion of the recognition process for employee associations.

The Chief Minister responded positively and said the government had written to the PRC seeking its report. After receiving it, the government would examine the recommendations and hold discussions with employee representatives before taking a decision on the fitment and payment of pending DA.

Revanth Reddy said the government had released around ₹10,000 crore towards employee-related issues since January and assured the delegation that efforts would be made to resolve the remaining issues at the earliest. The CM said that after the ongoing Assembly session, he would meet finance officials to review the state’s financial position and take appropriate steps.
