TG to Celebrate Formation Day With Grand Festivities
CM Revanth Reddy leads tributes and flag hoisting; cultural shows planned across all districts

Hyderabad: The state government will celebrate Telangana Formation Day on June 2 in a grand manner, with Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy is leading the commemorations in Hyderabad, and ministers are participating in events across all districts.
The Chief Minister will begin the day by paying floral tributes to Telangana martyrs at the Martyrs Memorial, Gun Park, at 9.30 am. He will proceed to Parade Ground in Secunderabad, where he will hoist the National Flag at 10 am and receive a guard of honour from the state police.
The CM will also present medals to government officials and employees in recognition of exemplary service across various departments. He is expected to address the people later in the day.
On Friday, the government issued orders nominating dignitaries to hoist the national flag at all 32 district headquarters. District-level events will mirror the main celebrations in Hyderabad, featuring cultural programmes and public gatherings.
Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao has directed all departments to ensure the smooth execution of the events. Special arrangements are being made for international guests, including contestants of the Miss World pageant and the Mayor of a Japanese city, whose attendance is expected to bring a global dimension to the occasion.
“The events should reflect the glory and prestige of Telangana,” said the CS, emphasising the need to showcase the state’s cultural heritage and historical journey. Cultural programmes celebrating Telangana’s traditions, language and struggle for statehood will be held across all districts, marking the 11th Telangana Formation Day as a vibrant and inclusive celebration.
