HYDERABAD: A state-wide reading campaign titled Naa Pustakam Naa Katha (My Book, My Story) was launched on Wednesday to strengthen literacy among students in government schools across Telangana. The initiative will run until September 8, World Literacy Day.
The campaign was formally launched at the state project director’s office, where school education director Naveen Nicholas unveiled the poster in the presence of joint director Rajeev and Room to Read state lead Narasimha Chary.
Officials described the programme as part of continuing efforts to revive school libraries as centres for reading and learning. The department had earlier conducted training for library point teachers in collaboration with the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT).
The campaign is being held in partnership with Room to Read India Trust and will involve schools across the state.
