TG Contributes To 5% Of EPFO Joinees
EPFO’s provisional payroll data for June 2025 shows a net addition of 21.89 lakh members, the highest monthly addition since payroll data tracking began in April 2018.

Hyderabad: Telangana was among eight states and Union Territories that each contributed over five per cent of the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) net payroll additions in June. The others were Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Haryana, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh.
EPFO’s provisional payroll data for June 2025 shows a net addition of 21.89 lakh members, the highest monthly addition since payroll data tracking began in April 2018. This reflects a 9.14 per cent rise compared to May 2025, according to the ministry of labour and employment.
A year-on-year comparison shows a 13.46 per cent growth over June 2024, indicating rising employment opportunities and greater awareness of employee benefits, aided by EPFO’s outreach initiatives.
A key highlight is the addition of 10.62 lakh new subscribers, a 12.68 per cent increase over May 2025, and 3.61 per cent over June 2024. This growth is attributed to improving job opportunities and effective awareness campaigns. Youth continue to dominate new registrations. EPFO added 6.39 lakh new subscribers in the 18–25 age group, accounting for 60.22 per cent of total new subscribers. This reflects a 14.08 per cent rise from May 2025.
Overall net payroll addition in the 18–25 age group was 9.72 lakh, up 11.41 per cent from May 2025 and 12.15 per cent over June 2024. The trend aligns with the pattern of first-time job seekers entering the organised workforce.
Around 16.93 lakh members who had exited earlier rejoined EPFO in June 2025—a 5.09 per cent rise over May and a 19.65 per cent increase over June 2024. These returning members likely changed jobs and opted to transfer their EPF balances, thereby preserving their long-term savings and social security.
In June 2025, 3.02 lakh new female subscribers joined EPFO, reflecting a 14.92 per cent increase over May and a 1.34 per cent rise over June 2024. Net payroll addition for women stood at 4.72 lakh, marking an 11.11 per cent increase over May and a 10.29 per cent year-on-year growth. The surge points to a growing inclusion of women in the formal workforce.
