KARIMNAGAR: Telangana’s handlooms and textiles minister Tummala Nageswara Rao inaugurated the new TexPort unit at Apparel Park in Sircilla on Friday, reaffirming the state government's commitment to the welfare of weavers and farmers. The facility, established on 7.6 acres with a ₹62 crore investment and spanning 1.73 lakh square feet, is poised to create significant local employment opportunities.

Joined by ministers Sridhar Babu (IT and industries), Ponnam Prabhakar (BC welfare and transport), Government Chief Whip Aadi Srinivas, and district collector Sandeep Kumar Jha, the officials unveiled a commemorative plaque, inspected production processes, and engaged with workers.

During the event, minister Nageswara Rao highlighted ongoing schemes like ‘Worker to Owner’ and announced major financial reliefs — including a ₹20,600 crore loan waiver for farmers, ₹34 crore for weavers on Konda Laxman Bapuji Jayanti, and the clearance of pending dues worth ₹914 crore for weavers. Additional welfare efforts include initiatives like Chenetha Bharosa, Chenetha Bima, and large textile orders worth ₹900 crore from local weavers.
