Tensions flared at a private school in Nizamabad after dispute over alleged Urdu teaching

Nizamabad: The Armoor police on Monday (June 29, 2026) arrested Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Armoor Town president Mandula Balu in connection with a recent confrontation at Bharat Chandra High School, also known as Bhavishya Darshini School, in Perkit village of Armoor mandal.

The incident reportedly stemmed from tensions over the alleged unauthorised teaching of Urdu to primary school students. According to police, Mandula Balu has been named as the prime accused in one of the two FIRs registered following the incident.

Officials said that Balu, along with his supporters, allegedly entered the school premises on Saturday and confronted the management over the issue. During the altercation, the school’s principal was allegedly assaulted, reportedly in the presence of police personnel.
