26-yr-old Man Held for Desecrating Place of Worship
According to Malkajgiri zonal DCP Ch Sridhar the accused is a native of Bidar district in Karnataka. The accused was spotted by locals who stopped him.

Hyderabad: A 26-year-old man was arrested by the Neredmet police on Sunday for desecrating a place of worship late on Saturday night. He was apprehended by locals and beaten up before the police arrived on the spot on receiving information and picked him up.
The incident triggered protests which continued till Sunday afternoon before police stepped in.
According to Malkajgiri zonal DCP Ch Sridhar the accused is a native of Bidar district in Karnataka. The accused was spotted by locals who stopped him. The din attracted a large crowd.
Sources said the accused along with his mother had recently come to Malkajgiri and were staying with relatives.
As the news of the incident spread, people gathered at the spot and raised slogans demanding immediate action, stating the act of the accused had hurt their religious sentiments. Videos of the incidents circulated fast. The accused was also made to should religious slogans.
Neredmet police registered a case of trespass, acts likely to disturb public harmony or promote enmity between groups, defiling a place of worship with intent to insult the religion and deliberate and malicious act intended to outrage religious feelings respectively. He was produced before a magistrate on Sunday, who remanded him to judicial custody.
With protests continuing till afternoon on Sunday, traffic was disrupted in Neredmet, ECIL stretches towards Secunderabad. Traffic police were deployed along the stretch and cleared the jam.
DCP Sridhar urged the public not to circulate rumours or unverified information on social media and requested citizens to rely only on official updates. Authorities also called for calm, peace, and communal harmony while assuring that the matter would be dealt with strictly in accordance with law.
