Tense Situation In Mancherial As Congress Groups Clash

Adilabad:A tense situation prevailed in Mancherial district after clashes between two Congress groups led by local MLA Premsagar Rao and Peddapalli MP Gaddam Vamsikrishna.

Police set up pickets at different locations to avert incidents in Luxettipet and Dandepally mandals.

Protection was provided by the police to the house of Congress leader M. Jaganmohan Rao, who was backed by minister Gaddam Vivek and Gaddam Vamsi Krishna, after intelligence reports suggested that Premsagar Rao’s supporters may attack the house on Wednesday.

The clashes first took place between two groups on the occasion of Saddula Bathukamma in Thallapeta village in Dandepally mandal. Clashes took place on Dasara day too.

News is that Vamsi’s supporters attacked a supporter of Premsagar Rao. Police enforced prohibitory orders on Thallapeta, and put some leaders under house arrest. Top police officials are monitoring the situation in Luxettipet, Dandepalli and Mancherial following the clashes.
