Telugu-Origin Man Among Three Who Hacked OpenAI and Found Vulnerabilities
Hacktron AI researchers reported an account-takeover vulnerability and received $6,500
Hyderabad: Three Indian-origin men, including one of Telugu origin, breached OpenAI systems and claimed a bounty of $6,500. Pedhapati Mohan Sri Rama Krishna, a Rajamahendravaram-origin man, was one of the three men from Hacktron AI who broke into OpenAI systems.
Rama Krishna, known online as “s1r1us”, completed his high schooling from the Zilla Parishad High School in Sampathnagaram in Rajamahendravaram, and his Bachelor of Technology from Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies, Nuzvid, according to his LinkedIn profile.
He is the founder of Electrovolt Security, a security auditing company based in Rajanagaram in Rajamahendravaram. According to his bio on Hacktron AI, the company raised “€1.5M in revenue”.
In 2025, Rama Krishna, along with Harsh Jaiswal and others, founded Hacktron AI, a company which helps teams find and fix exploitable vulnerabilities in their applications.
Rama Krishna, along with Harsh and Rahul Maini, found that any user logging into OpenAI’s help forum (community.openai.com) could have had their ChatGPT and Codex accounts taken over. They reported the vulnerability to OpenAI and worked with them to coordinate a patch to fix the vulnerability, for which OpenAI paid them a $6,500 bounty.
“Hacktron’s mission is to help secure the internet by finding and eliminating vulnerabilities in widely trusted software before malicious actors do. We are continuing this research across frontier labs and other internet-critical systems,” they wrote in their blog.
