Telugu Film Chamber Forms Panel To End Dispute
Producer and distributor Dil Raju said producers had agreed “in principle” to the percentage-sharing model being demanded by exhibitors.

The Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce on Friday held a crucial meeting with producers, distributors, and exhibitors at its office complex to resolve the ongoing percentage‑versus‑rental dispute in the Telugu film industry. More than 30 members reportedly attended.
“While around 10 exhibitors attended, a larger number of producers turned up,” said a producer present at the meeting. Sources said the discussions helped ease pressure surrounding Peddi, though the situation is still being closely monitored.
Producer‑distributor Dil Raju said producers had agreed “in principle” to the percentage‑sharing model sought by exhibitors. “All aspects, including the percentage share structure for theatres in A, B, and C centres, will be decided soon. The meeting was held in a healthy atmosphere among producers, distributors, and exhibitors. I assure you that the pressure on Peddi has eased,” he stated.
Producer Chadalavada Srinivasa Rao said the industry was moving in the right direction. “All stakeholders are now on one platform. Everything is progressing positively and amicably, and we are looking forward to a positive result,” he said.
Film Chamber president D. Suresh Babu announced the formation of a committee to resolve the issue. “Producers, distributors, and exhibitors have agreed to form a committee to address the percentage system dispute. Discussions are happening positively and amicably,” he said.
Sources said there were a few heated exchanges during the meeting. “At one point, a producer and an exhibitor pushed each other during an argument. Some members raised their voices before the situation cooled down,” said a producer.
The newly formed 21‑member sub‑committee includes Y. Supriya, Y. Ravi Shankar, B. Bapineedu, and Prasanna Kumar from the producers’ sector; V. Pratap Reddy, T. Balgovind Raj, K. Anupam Reddy, and M. Vijender Reddy representing exhibitors; and distributors’ representatives D. Vishnu Murthy, Veera Naidu, N. Sudhakar Reddy, and N. Nagarjuna, among others.
“Our committee will meet daily to resolve this stalemate and arrive at an amicable solution acceptable to all sectors,” said joint secretary Vijayender Reddy.
