Telugu Actor-Comedian Fish Venkat Dies
Venkat was recently admitted to the hospital after his condition worsened, resulting in kidney failure.

Hyderabad: Popular Telugu actor Fish Venkat, widely loved for his impeccable comic timing and signature Telangana accent, passed away on July 18 after battling severe kidney and liver failure. He was 52. Born Venkat Raj, the actor had been undergoing regular dialysis for several months. His health took a sharp decline in recent weeks, forcing doctors to place him on a ventilator. Despite desperate medical interventions, his condition deteriorated, and he passed away in the early hours of Thursday.
Venkat’s daughter, Shravanthi, had earlier made a public appeal seeking financial support for an urgent ₹50 lakh kidney transplant. Actors like Pawan Kalyan, Vishwak Sen, and a Telangana government minister reportedly offered modest aid to assist with treatment costs. Unfortunately, a suitable kidney donor could not be found in time, and despite the family’s appeals to the public and film fraternity, the actor lost his battle for life.
Fish Venkat carved a unique space for himself in Telugu cinema with memorable roles in films like Gabbar Singh, Adhurs, and DJ Tillu. Known for his rugged appearance and natural flair for humor, he became a cult favorite, often stealing the spotlight in small but impactful roles.
Condolences have poured in from fans, colleagues, and celebrities across the Telugu film industry. Many took to social media to share their grief and recall Venkat's contributions to cinema and laughter.
His final rites will be performed in Hyderabad, with members of the film fraternity expected to attend and pay their last respects.
