Telangana’s Growth Model Benefitting All: Ponguleti
The minister said development works are carried out equally in both urban and rural areas.

Nalgonda: Revenue minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said that the benefits of the state government’s development projects and welfare initiatives are reaching even the most remote areas of Telangana.
Speaking after laying the foundation stone for a slab culvert on the Palair-Maripeda road at Sublaid village in Thirumalayapalem mandal on Thursday, at a cost of Rs 4.5 crore, the minister said the government is ensuring that development works are carried out equally in both urban and rural areas. “The Congress government is dedicated to the welfare of the poor. Along with launching new initiatives, it is also continuing beneficial schemes introduced by the previous BRS administration,” he said.
Highlighting key welfare measures, Srinivas Reddy said support for farmers under the Rythu Bharosa scheme has been increased to Rs 12,000 per year, compared with Rs 10,000 offered earlier under Rythu Bandhu. He noted that the government has issued seven lakh new ration cards and added 17 lakh individuals as members to existing family cards. Quality rice distribution to ration card holders was also initiated from the Ugadi festival. He urged people to support the Congress government, which he said was committed to enhancing Telangana’s development.
Later, the minister distributed bicycles to girl students of Zilla Praja Parishad High School in Pindiprolu village, in collaboration with the PSR Trust. He said special focus is being laid on improving the quality of education and strengthening infrastructure in government schools. Artificial Intelligence (AI) labs have been established in several schools, he added.
The minister also announced that diet charges in residential schools have been increased by 40 per cent, while cosmetic charges have been raised by 200 per cent. He urged teachers to work towards increasing student enrolment in government schools.
