Telangana: Two Arrested in CM’s Relief Fund Fraud

Hyderabad: Two persons from Nalgonda have been arrested for fraudulent claims under the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) after the Crime Investigation Department (CID) registered six cases in connection with irregularities.

The arrested persons are Gotti Giri, 46, a registered medical practitioner at Chanakya Hospital in Doctors Colony, Miryalaguda, and Leki Reddy Saidi Reddy, 40, a supervisor at Naveena Multi Specialty Hospital in Miryalaguda.

Additional director general of police, CID, Shikha Goel said revenue officials on August 23 had filed complaints, stating discrepancies in the CMRF applications submitted by some hospitals in the state.

"It was revealed that two individuals were involved in this fraudulent activity in Nalgonda. These applications contained fake CMRF bills. The individuals used desktop computers to create fake medical bills. They also fabricated rubber stamps of doctors and hospitals from local printing shops in Miryalaguda. They charged Rs 4,000 per application from individuals to arrange fake CMRF applications, defrauding the government. They submitted 19 fake applications under the names of two hospitals: Amma Hospital, Nalgonda, and Naveena Multi Specialty Hospital, Miryalguda," Goel said.

The accused were produced before the judicial magistrate of the first class special mobile court in Nalgonda for judicial remand.
