Telangana to Release New Job Calendar in June
As a result, no job notifications listed in the 2024-25 calendar were issued between August 2024 and March 2025. Despite the legislation being passed two months ago, fresh notifications have yet to be released, leading to resentment among students, unemployed and job seekers.

Hyderabad: The state government is set to release a new annual job calendar for the 2025-26 in June, aiming to fill vacancies across various departments, official sources said. This move comes after a prolonged delay in implementing the previous job calendar for 2024-25 released in August 2024 due to the Scheduled Castes (SC) sub-categorisation issue, which has now been resolved.
Fulfilling a key poll promise made by the Congress in its 2023 Assembly election manifesto, the job calendar will emulate the UPSC model by providing a fixed timetable for issuing notifications, conducting recruitment exams and releasing selection lists. The job calendar is expected to help job aspirants in planning and preparing for examinations in advance.
The previous BRS government, which ruled the state from 2014 to 2023, did not adopt an annual job calendar, resulting in irregular and unpredictable recruitment schedules. In contrast, the Congress government, which assumed office in December 2023, introduced the 2024-25 job calendar in the Legislative Assembly in August 2024.
However, the implementation of the job calendar was halted following the Supreme Court's August 2024 ruling in favour of SC sub-categorisation. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy directed officials to halt recruitment drives until SC sub categorisation was done.
He formed a cabinet sub-committee in August 2024 and later appointed a one-man judicial commission in October 2024 to provide recommendations on SC sub categorisation issues to extend reservations in education and employment. The commission submitted its report in March 2025, leading to the swift passage of a new SC sub-categorisation law by the state legislature in the same month.
As a result, no job notifications listed in the 2024-25 calendar were issued between August 2024 and March 2025. Despite the legislation being passed two months ago, fresh notifications have yet to be released, leading to resentment among students, unemployed and job seekers.
RECRUITMENT DRIVE
Government plans to release a job calendar for 2025-26 in June to recruit employees for vacant positions.
Vacancies not filled up in 2024-25 will be incorporated into the new calendar.
Notifications will include vacancies in Groups 1, 2, 3, health, police, forest departments, discoms, as well as for teacher eligibility tests, and faculty jobs in government colleges and universities.
