Telangana to Launch Secure Digital Data Exchange Platform for AI Start-Ups
TGDeX is aimed at developing cross-domain AI solutions through collaboration between the State, industry partners, research institutions and startups.

Hyderabad: In an attempt to position Telangana as a frontrunner in artificial intelligence (AI) innovation, the state government is set to launch Telangana Data Exchange (TGDeX), a cutting-edge platform designed to provide a secure, collaborative digital workspace for start-ups, industry players, researchers, and innovators.
TGDeX, whose official launch is scheduled for July 2 at T-Hub, aims to facilitate access to high-quality, real-world ‘AI-ready’ datasets, enabling AI solution builders to develop, train, and scale their models while ensuring strict data privacy and regulatory compliance.
The event will see around 300 attendees, including start-ups, industry leaders, AI researchers, and academics. The event will also witness the release of a joint publication by the state government and JICA titled “Democratising AI Innovation in Telangana through a Digital Public Infrastructure.”
Start-ups will gain access to domain-specific datasets essential for prototyping and scaling AI solutions. TGDeX also offers value-added services through incubator and accelerator partners such as T-AIM and T-Hub, fostering a vibrant ecosystem for AI innovation.
TGDeX will empower government data officers to securely share data across ministries and departments. The private sector enterprises and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) leveraging AI for business or social impact in sectors like education, healthcare, climate, and sustainability can also use the platform. The academic institutions, researchers, and think tanks seeking high-quality datasets for research, analysis, and AI model development will also join with the platform.
Developed by the emerging technologies (ET) wing of the IT ministry and JICA DXLab, TGDeX benefits from strategic and technical guidance to cater to diverse user groups. While the platform serves multiple stakeholders, its primary focus is on AI start-ups and entrepreneurs at various stages of their AI journey.
The platform is a core component of the state’s AI Strategy & Roadmap, unveiled by IT and industries minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu at the Global AI Summit in September 2024.
This initiative aligns with Telangana’s broader vision of fostering cross-domain AI solutions through collaboration among government, industry partners, research institutions, and start-ups.
