Telangana to Implement E-Zero FIR System To Tackle Cyber Crimes

Hyderabad: To simplify the process of registering cybercrime complaints, the e-Zero FIR system will soon be implemented in the state of Telangana. Amid rising cybercrimes across the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a video conference review on Thursday with Chief Secretaries and DGPs of various states.

From Telangana, Chief Secretary Ramakrishna Rao, DGP C.V. Anand, and other senior officials participated. During the meeting, PM Modi directed officials to implement the e-Zero FIR system to ensure cybercrime complaints are registered immediately.

DGP C.V. Anand said they discussed various measures to be taken to prevent cybercrimes and digital arrests, along with providing prompt assistance to victims.

The Indian government launched the e-Zero FIR initiative on May 19, 2025. The initiative was first launched as a pilot project in Delhi to review its effectiveness. The DGP urged the public not to transfer money under any circumstances if threatened in the name of "digital arrest." He advised citizens to immediately call the 24/7 national helpline - 1930 to report such incidents.
