Telangana To Deduct 1.5% of Basic Pay, Pension for EHS
The deducted amount will be credited to the EHS Fund under a designated head of account maintained for medical and public health purposes.

Hyderabad: State government employees and pensioners will contribute 1.5 per cent of their basic pay or basic pension towards the Employees Health Scheme (EHS) Fund from salaries and pensions payable from June, according to orders issued by the finance department on Monday. The deducted amount will be credited to the EHS Fund under a designated head of account maintained for medical and public health purposes.
Through GO 79, the government directed heads of departments, district collectors and drawing and disbursing Officers to begin the deductions for implementation of the EHS through the Employee Health Care Trust (EHCT). The order follows the reconstitution of the EHCT, which will oversee the scheme.
The government also clarified that EHS contributions will be collected from only one individual in specific cases to prevent duplicate deductions. These include situations where both husband and wife are state government employees, where one spouse is a government employee and the other a pensioner, and where a pensioner receives both service pension and family pension.
Officials have been directed to verify eligibility through documentary evidence and record relevant employment or pension details in the IFMIS-HRMS system. The order states that any excess contribution already deducted due to duplication must be refunded.
The director of treasuries and accounts, director of works accounts, director of state audit, pay and accounts officer, Hyderabad, and all department heads have been instructed to ensure that deductions are correctly effected and credited to the EHS Fund without fail. The contribution will be matched by the government under the EHS framework. delivery standards in the state.
