Telangana: Tensions rise after Lord Rama idol vandalised

Karimnagar (Sircilla): Tensions flared in Mandepally village, Thangallapally mandal, after unidentified miscreants damaged a statue of Lord Sri Rama at the Hanuman temple in KCR Nagar on Monday.

Police rushed to the scene following a complaint from villagers. The statue, recently brought by the community for installation, was found broken into two pieces after reportedly falling from its platform.

The incident sparked outrage, with BJP and Hindu organisation leaders staging a protest outside the temple, demanding immediate action to identify and punish the culprits.

Police have registered a case and launched an investigation. Authorities assured protesters that those responsible would be apprehended soon.
