Telangana: Temple staff in quandary with useless promotions

Yadadri Temple
Karimnagar: Employees of the endowment department, who were transferred to various temples in a recent transfer, urged the government to post them as per service rules so that they don’t lose their service benefits.
Employees working in various temples across the state were promoted and transferred in a recent transfer. However, instead of being happy, the employees expressed worry as they have to continue in the same posts as the authorities did not give them postings as per promotions they were given. The department brought six temples into a unit and transferred employees in these temples- Vemulawada, Yadagiri Gutta, Kondagattu, Komuravelli, Bhadrachalam and Basara--as per employees’ options along with promotions for some.
However, some of the transferred employees were given promotions in the old temple (from where they were recruited in the beginning) according to their seniority, but they have not been given postings in those positions resulting in their doing the same old jobs.
In recent transfers, Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy temple’s assistant EO Naveen was transferred to Sri Yadagiri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple. He was promoted as deputy EO in the Vemulawada temple and discharged duties as AEO at Yadadri temple.According to G.O 888, if any employee gets promotion when he was working at his parent company (temple), he must be allotted the same posting at the place to which he was transferred. If there is no vacancy for that post at the transferred place, then he must be allowed to work at the parent company at promoted level.
Chandrasekhar and Bhupathi Reddy who worked as senior assistants at their parent company in Vemulawada temple got promotion as supervisors. They were transferred to Kondagattu where they are working as senior assistants only. The employees alleged that there is no use of promotions when they were not given postings.
Apart from that all the benefits which they should otherwise get as per service rules are missing without allotment of postings to them. On several occasions, the issue was taken to the notice of the higher authorities, but to no avail, they added.
They have decided to take the issue to the notice of the state government.
