Telangana State Economy in Pitiable Condition: Etala
The BJP leader demanded the state government to initiate measures on a war footing to come to the rescue of farmers as their produce was damaged at Paddy Purchasing Centres due to unseasonal rains.

Hyderabad: The state is reeling through pitiable conditions under the Congress government led by A. Revanth Reddy. The bills for the works carried out by the sarpanchs and MPTC members in gram panchayats are not cleared. Even if some bills are sanctioned, they are pending at treasuries due to lack of funds, BJP Malkajgiri MP Etala Rajender said.
Talking to newsmen at the state party office on Monday, the MP said, “The condition in 12,800 gram panchayats has come to such a condition that even sanitation workers are not getting the salaries. It is shameful that the contractors who got works after paying 10% commission, have resorted to staging dharna in front of Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka office at the Secretariat.
Does Revanth Reddy have the moral right to continue in the office with such inefficient and incapable rule in the state? he questioned.
In the name of verification, the officials have been cancelling the old age and handicapped pensions in many parts of the state. “The newly married did not get Kalyana Laxmi cheques even after they were blessed with the children,” Etala said.
“In the name of Indiramma committees, the real beneficiaries are not being allotted houses, but the Congress workers are getting the houses. If the state government fails to mend its ways, people would resort to massive agitation,” the MP said and asked those in power not to think that the pensions and houses are their personal property but done with taxes collected from people.
The BJP leader demanded the state government to initiate measures on a war footing to come to the rescue of farmers as their produce was damaged at Paddy Purchasing Centres due to unseasonal rains.
Charging that the Reventha Reddy government is indulging in diversion politics to shift the attention from the real issues, Etala said that the BC caste survey conducted by the state government was full of flaws as it showed the BC population in the state as 46 % though BCs constitute more than 56%. He welcomed the Modi government's decision to conduct a comprehensive caste enumeration in the country along with national census after 90 years in the country.
Claiming that the traffic snarls in the Hyderabad city have considerably reduced after the Centre taken up flyovers and highway extension works, he said that they would they would submit a representation seeking to announce the National Highway on Kompally route as Expressway and announce the Shamirpet and Karimnagar Highway as National Highway.
