Telangana: Voters Can Now Submit SIR Enumeration Forms Till August 3

Hyderabad: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has revised the schedule for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Telangana.

In a letter addressed to the Telangana Chief Electoral Officer on Wednesday, the Commission said the revised schedule was issued following a request from the state election machinery.

As per the revised programme, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will conduct house-to-house verification till August 3, while rationalisation and rearrangement of polling stations will be completed on August 3.

The draft electoral rolls will be published on August 10, and the period for filing claims and objections will remain open from August 10 to September 9.

The process of issuing notices and disposing of claims and objections will continue till October 8, after which the final electoral rolls will be published on October 12.

The Commission has directed the Telangana Chief Electoral Officer to inform all officials concerned and ensure wide publicity of the revised schedule through all available media. It also instructed that recognised political parties be informed in writing about the revised timetable.
