Telangana Shelves H-CITI Projects, Opts For Steel Flyover
Telangana has scrapped the earlier H-CITI plan around KBR Park and proposed a 7.5-km steel flyover from Jubilee Hills Checkpost to Muffakham Jah College.

The state government has shelved the earlier H-CITI projects around KBR Park and proposed a 7.5-km steel flyover from Jubilee Hills checkpost to Muffakham Jah College, with the revised plan expected to result in only marginal savings over the earlier proposals.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), at its standing committee meeting on Saturday, decided to scrap the earlier plan comprising eight underpasses and seven flyovers around KBR Park.
GHMC commissioner R.V. Karnan, special officer Jayesh Ranjan and other officials discussed the H-CITI works and proposed the 7.5-km flyover as a revised plan.
The proposed steel flyover will run from Jubilee Hills Checkpost through Road No. 2 and KBR Park junction towards Muffakham Jah College.
The earlier H-CITI plan included eight underpasses and seven flyovers around the periphery of KBR Park. These included a flyover and an underpass each at Maharaja Agrasen junction, Basavatarakam Cancer Hospital junction and KBR Park entrance, a four-lane flyover on Road No. 2, and a flyover and an underpass at Jubilee Hills checkpost.
An underpass was proposed at Road No. 1, while flyovers and underpasses were planned at Road No. 45 and Filmnagar junctions. An additional underpass was proposed at Mugdha junction. Despite scrapping the earlier projects, the proposed 7.5-km flyover is expected to result in only marginal savings under the H-CITI project.
