Schools to have 227 working days; Class X syllabus to be completed by January 10, with mandatory yoga and daily remedial classes included in the schedule.

Hyderabad: The school education department on Sunday released the academic calendar for 2026-27, scheduling 227 working days for schools.
According to the calendar, the Class X syllabus will be completed by January 10, 2027, followed by revision classes and pre-final examinations ahead of the SSC Board exams in March 2027. For Classes I to IX, the syllabus will be completed by February 28, 2027, with revision, remedial teaching and preparation for SA-2 examinations during March and April.
The department directed schools to conduct daily remedial classes for Classes I to IX during the post-lunch session until the end of September, covering one subject each day. It also made five minutes of yoga and meditation mandatory during the school assembly or immediately thereafter. The calendar schedules Dasara holidays from October 10 to 22, 2026, Christmas holidays for missionary schools from December 23 to 27, 2026, and Sankranti holidays from January 13 to 17, 2027.
Summer vacation will begin on April 24, 2027, and continue until June 13, 2027.
