Schools in Telangana will have a 13-day Dasara holiday for the 2026-27 academic calendar. The vacation will begin on October 10 and continue until October 22, 2026.

Hyderabad: Students across Telangana have a long festive break to look forward to this year, with the state's School Education Department announcing 13 days of Dasara holidays for all schools, regardless of management type.
Classes will remain suspended from October 10 to October 22, with regular schooling set to resume on October 23.
Exams before the break: Before the vacation kicks in, students will sit for their Summative Assessment-I exams. The schedule is split by grade: Classes VI to X: October 1 to October 9 and the Primary section: October 5 to October 9
Junior college holidays: Intermediate students get a slightly shorter break. The Telangana Board of Intermediate Education has scheduled Dasara holidays from October 10 to October 21, with colleges reopening on October 22. These students will first need to complete their half-yearly examinations, running from October 3 to October 9.
The Bathukamma celebrations will begin on October 11, with Saddula Bathukamma scheduled for October 19, and the Vijayadashami festival falls on October 20.
Junior College Holiday Schedule
The Dasara vacation for junior colleges is different from the school schedule. According to the Telangana Intermediate academic calendar, junior colleges will have holidays from October 10 to October 21. Classes will resume on October 22.
