Telangana Scheme Bears Fruit As 43 Qualify UPSC
Another coach said Telangana’s consistent presence in civil services results highlight the role of structured preparation and state-backed support.

Hyderabad: Forty-three out of 202 candidates, whom the Telangana government had supported, have cleared the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Services Main Examination 2025. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy congratulated them on Wednesday, commending their hard work and commitment.
The Chief Minister said the state government had extended financial assistance of Rs 1 lakh each to 202 civil services aspirants under the Rajiv Civils Abhaya Hastam scheme, implemented through the Singareni Collieries Company Limited. The initiative aims to help students from poor backgrounds to prepare for the country’s most competitive examination.
The Chief Minister said the 43 successful candidates will receive another Rs 1 lakh support for their preparation for the interview round. “The government will continue to stand by hardworking students who wish to serve the nation through the civil services,” Reddy said.
Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka also congratulated the qualifiers, calling their achievement an inspiration for thousands of aspirants across Telangana. Officials said mock interviews with senior bureaucrats and free accommodation in New Delhi will be arranged for the shortlisted candidates.
Gopala Krishna, a senior coach and director of a civil services institute, said that while the interview carries around 13 per cent of the total marks, its impact is significant. “Though the Personality Test carries 13.5 per cent weightage, since most candidates score closely in the mains, interview marks can make up to a 30 per cent difference in the final ranking,” he said.
Another coach said Telangana’s consistent presence in civil services results highlight the role of structured preparation and state-backed support. “When the state steps in to assist serious candidates, it opens doors for deserving students who might otherwise be left behind,” he noted.
The UPSC Main examination was held between August 22 and 31. The interviews will be conducted in New Delhi, followed by the announcement of the final results.
