Telangana Sanctions Rs. 227.98 Crore to HYDRAA for Restoration of Four Lakes
The funds will be met from the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority's (HMDA) own resources, with HYDRAA executing the works.

Hyderabad:The state government has approved Rs 227.98 crore to HYDRAA to restore and develop of four more lakes, while also releasing Rs 12.5 crore to the agency for administrative work.
The sanction, issued through government orders, covered the Foxsagar at Kompally (Rs 74.35 crore), Ameenpur lake (Rs 69 crore), Amber Cheruvu near Kukatpally (Rs 35 crore) and the Saroornagar lake (Rs 50.63 crore). The funds will be met from the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority's (HMDA) own resources, with HYDRAA executing the works.
The four lakes together are expected to undergo comprehensive development in three phases, including core restoration works, non-core works and beautification. The total estimated cost for all three phases was estimated at Rs 536.5 crore. The funds for the first phase were meant for essential restoration works.
In a separate order, the government released Rs 12.5 crores to HYDRAA as part of the 2026-27 state Budget. The amount has been authorised for immediate release, with HYDRAA directed to utilise the funds and submit expenditure details and utilisation certificates to the Accountant General and the MA&UD department.
