Telangana Records Steady Teacher Qualification Levels in Primary Schools: Report
The share of professionally qualified teachers declines significantly at higher levels of schooling: Report

Hyderabad: Telangana has maintained a steady able teacher qualification levels at the primary stage. However, the share of professionally qualified teachers declines significantly at higher levels of schooling.
This was figured in the Union Education Ministry’s Unified District Information System for Education Plus (UDISE) 2025–26 report. The report also said Telangana is falling behind several major states in the proportion of professionally qualified high school teachers.
According to the report, NEP 2020 identifies enrolment and attendance of children of school going age as primary goals of the schooling system. NEP also recommends achieving universal participation in school by carefully tracking of students, as well as their learning levels, in order to ensure that they are enrolled in and attending school, and have suitable opportunities to catch up and re-enter school in case they have left behind or dropped out.
This was possible only through building a unique student-wise database which also helps in identifying dropped out students. It also helps in identifying ghost students and helps in transferring benefits to deserving students resulting into savings to government and good governance by way of better expenditure management.
For the first time at the national level individual student wise data has been collected from all recognized schools in the country through UDISE+ in 2022-23. A total of 24.72 Crore students have been reported in the academic year 2025-26.
It may be noted that enrolment data at Foundational stage contained in the UDISE+ system does not include the enrolment of the Anganwadi centre (AWC) system run by the Ministry of Women and Child Welfare. It covers only the enrolment in Balvakita/pre-primary classes of different categories of schools onboarded with UDISE +
