According to official estimates, the state has around 4,097,749 children in the 0–5 age group. However, a total of 4,153,185 children were administered polio drops during the drive, exceeding expectations.

Health officials said the achievement was made possible through a combination of polio booths and extensive door-to-door visits to identify and vaccinate children who were initially missed.

Special drives were conducted in construction sites, migrant labour colonies, high-risk areas, slums, and child care homes to ensure that no child was left out of the immunization programme.

State Health Minister Damodar Rajanarsimha congratulated doctors, officials, ANMs, ASHA workers, Anganwadi staff, volunteers, and other frontline personnel for their dedicated efforts in making the programme a success.

He also appreciated parents across the state for actively participating by ensuring their children received polio drops.

The minister reiterated that the government remains committed to maintaining the state’s polio-free status and will continue to stay vigilant to safeguard the health of every child.

He added that the success of the programme was made possible due to public cooperation and the tireless efforts of the health department staff.
