Telangana Prison Top Cops Awarded BPR&D Commendation Discs for All India Meet
In recognition of their contribution towards the successful conduct of the 7th All India Prison Duty Meet–2025
Hyderabad: DG, prisons, Dr Soumya Mishra, and IG, prisons, M. Sampath have been conferred with the Director General's commendation discs and certificates by the Union home ministry’s Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D), in recognition of their contribution towards the successful conduct of the 7th All India Prison Duty Meet–2025.
In addition, the Director General, BPR&D, awarded commendation certificates to several officers of the prisons department. It was said to be one of the largest national prison sporting events organised in the country. The Telangana contingent emerged as the overall champions.
A statement from the prisons department said that around 1,300 prison personnel representing 24 states and Union Territories competed in various professional and sporting events during the meet which was hosted by the state prisons and correctional services department at the RBVRR Telangana State Police Academy.
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy lauded the department for the flawless conduct of the event and congratulated the Telangana team on securing the overall championship, a press release issued by the prisons department said on Friday.
