HYDERABAD: Director General of Police (DGP) C.V. Anand on Saturday said the state’s police recruitment process had remained free of question paper leaks, describing it as a reflection of the credibility and transparency maintained by the Telangana State Level Police Recruitment Board (TSLPRB).
Reviewing the functioning of the recruitment board, police training and police computer services wings, the DGP directed officials to continue conducting recruitments in a transparent, fair and reliable manner. He also called for concerted efforts to help the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS) achieve national benchmark standards.
Officials informed the DGP that the state had completed the largest police recruitment drive in its history during 2022–23, filling 16,654 posts. Of the recruitments carried out so far, around 95 per cent were for constable posts and 5 per cent for sub-inspectors.
Board officials also briefed him on the ongoing recruitment process for 18 assistant public prosecutor posts and 1,743 driver operator posts notified last year. Officials said that in the state’s first-ever recruitment for fingerprint and forensic posts, 57 candidates had been selected against 60 vacancies.
DGP Anand also reviewed reforms introduced in the recruitment process, including 33⅓ per cent reservation, biometric verification, online applications, RFID technology, mobile and email registration, and one-fourth negative marking in examinations. During the meeting, Anand also unveiled new communication sets and issued directions on further modernising police training and police computer services.
