Hyderabad: Director General of Police (DGP) Dr. Jitender on Wednesday said the Telangana police has emerged as the top-performing police department in the country and is receiving nationwide appreciation for its excellence.
Speaking after rewards to 52 police personnel who demonstrated best performance in the area of crime investigation, detection and other related verticals, he highlighted that according to the India Justice Report 2025, Telangana police secured the first position nationally.
He also noted that the department leads the country in cell phone recovery and emphasized that the exceptional performance of police personnel has significantly contributed to the department's success, and they deserve recognition and encouragement. He reminded the officers that excellence must be sustained and further enhanced.
Dr. Jitender urged all personnel to strive for continuous improvement and maintain the momentum of success. He called on officers to work with sincerity, integrity, and public commitment to gain further national recognition.
Acknowledging the collective effort of officers, staff, and home guards, he expressed confidence that consistent and honest performance would further elevate the reputation of Telangana police.
Speaking on the occasion Director General, CID Shikha Goel stated that after careful scrutiny, 52 officers were selected for their good performance in the year 2024 eight categories: Best grave crime detection, best conviction, Liquidation of maximum number of Under Investigation (UI) cases, Execution of maximum number of NBWs, Maximum disposal of POCSO cases within prescribed 60 days period, Maximum disposal in national Lok Adalat, Maximum refund in Cybercrime cases and Outstanding performance in detection of property offences.
The officers were honoured with appreciation certificates and cash rewards by the DGP.
Also the top three units - Hyderabad, Medak and Ramagundam and top 10 police stations which were rated highest through the citizens feedback mechanism including the QR code were rewarded during the event.
