Telangana Police Bags National Award for Passport Verification Excellence
DGP Anand attributed the achievement to the department’s technology-driven verification system, streamlined procedures and commitment to transparent and efficient public service.

Hyderabad: Telangana police have bagged national recognition from the ministry of external affairs (MEA) for outstanding performance in passport verification services, and secured the Institutional Performance Award for 2025–26.
The MEA joint secretary and chief passport officer, B.S. Mubarak, wrote a letter to Director-General of Police C.V. Anand regarding the award, which will be presented by external affairs minister S. Jaishankar during the Passport Seva Divas and passport officers’ conference on June 18 and 19 in New Delhi.
The award acknowledges Telangana police for their efficiency, transparency and prompt verification of passport applications, a crucial stage in the passport issuance process. The recognition is based on the department’s exemplary performance in conducting police verification, ensuring faster and citizen-friendly service delivery.
