Congress emerged dominant in Telangana municipal polls, winning 64 bodies. BRS secured 13, while 38 saw hung verdicts, reflecting fragmented opposition and a strong statewide mandate.

The Congress party has emerged as the single largest winner in the municipal elections, securing victory in 64 municipalities out of 116. The result marked a strong mandate in favour of the Congress across the state. The Bharat Rashtra Samithi won 13 municipalities, while 38 municipalities recorded hung results with no clear majority. The Forward Bloc captured Waddeppally municipality. Ward-wise results showed Congress winning a majority of the 2,582 wards. The final ward tally stood at Congress 1,347, BRS 717, Bharatiya Janata Party 261, and others 256.

Congress Dominates Telangana Municipal Corporation Polls Across Key Towns
Strong show in Ramagundam, Mancherial and Nalgonda; BJP leads in Karimnagar while others shine in Kothagudem
The results of the Telangana Municipal Corporation elections have been declared, with the Congress party emerging as the dominant force in several corporations across the state.
In Ramagundam (60/60), Congress secured 38 seats, while BRS won 13 seats. BJP got 1 seat and others claimed 8 seats.
In Nizamabad (6/60 declared), Congress won 1 seat, BRS secured 3 seats, and BJP bagged 2 seats.
In Mahabubnagar (30/60 declared), Congress took the lead with 15 seats, followed by BRS with 8 seats, BJP with 4 seats, and others winning 3 seats.
In Mancherial (60/60), Congress registered a sweeping victory with 44 seats. BRS secured 8 seats, BJP won 5 seats, and others got 3 seats.
In Karimnagar (24/66 declared), BJP emerged strong with 15 seats, while Congress won 5 seats and BRS secured 3 seats. Others claimed 1 seat.
In Nalgonda (48/48), Congress won 27 seats, BRS secured 9 seats, BJP got 4 seats, and others won 8 seats.
In Kothagudem (60/60), Congress secured 22 seats, BRS won 8 seats, BJP got 1 seat, and others emerged victorious in 29 seats.
Overall, Congress has put up a strong performance across multiple municipal corporations, while BRS, BJP, and other parties also made significant gains in select areas.

Win 14 of 50 wards; Congress gets 12, BJP and BRS 4 each, AIMIM bags 2
Independent candidates made significant gains in the Jagtial Municipality elections. Out of the total 50 wards, Independents secured 14 seats, emerging as a strong force in the civic body.
The Congress party won 12 wards, while both the BJP and BRS secured 4 wards each. The AIMIM won 2 wards.
Notably, several of the Independent winners are supporters of Jeevan Reddy, who contested as Independents in the municipality.

Hung verdicts have emerged in 15 municipalities across Telangana following the counting of votes in the civic polls.
The municipalities where no party secured a clear majority include Devarakadra, Alampur, Kohir, Kesamudram, Asifabad, Amarachintha, Kythanpalli, Jangaon, Jinnaram, Jammikunta, Vemulawada, Raikal, Ailapur (Aliyabad), Gadwal, and Zaheerabad.
