Telangana: Minister Seethakka Buys Wild Mushrooms From Tribal Woman During Mulugu Tour

WARANGAL: Panchayat raj minister Danasari Anasuya Seethakka made an unscheduled stop during her tour of Mulugu district on Tuesday to purchase wild mushrooms from a tribal woman by the roadside, highlighting the importance of supporting the livelihoods of tribal communities.
After concluding her visit to Medaram and travelling towards Eturnagaram, the minister noticed the woman selling mushrooms collected from the nearby forest. She stopped her convoy, interacted with the vendor, enquired about her income and livelihood before personally purchasing the mushrooms.
Speaking on the occasion, Seethakka said mushrooms are highly nutritious and recalled consuming them during the Covid-19 pandemic. She stressed the need to encourage tribal women who depend on the collection and sale of naturally available forest produce for their livelihood.

Earlier in the day, Seethakka inspected the ongoing development works at the Medaram Temple premises in Tadvai mandal. She offered special prayers to tribal deities Sammakka and Saralamma
She later attended a free tailoring training programme for women organised by the Mother Education Rural Development Society at Sammakka Bhavan. She distributed free sewing machines to women beneficiaries.
