Telangana: Minister Denies ₹2,000-Cr Hostel Scam Charge
The minister said he and others were willing to resign if the allegations of corruption were proven: Reports

ADILABAD: Telangana SC and ST welfare minister Adluri Laxman Kumar on Wednesday accused BRS leaders of making false allegations against ministers belonging to SC, ST, BC and minority communities in the state government. He alleged that BRS leader Harish Rao was making baseless claims of irregularities in procurement for students in government hostels.
Speaking to the media after travelling in an RTC bus with transport minister Ponnam Prabhakar in Karimnagar, Laxman Kumar said the government was providing quality food and clothing to students in SC, ST, BC and minority hostels.
He questioned the allegation of Rs 2,000 crore corruption, stating that the total procurement value was Rs 1,142 crore and purchases were made through government agencies such as LIDCAP and handlooms via centralised tenders.
The minister said he and others were willing to resign if the allegations of corruption were proven. He also alleged that leaders of the previous BRS government had insulted ministers from minority and backward class communities.
