Telangana: Locals Catch Murderer Disposing Girlfriend’s Body

HYDERABAD: A man, who murdered his alleged three month-pregnant girlfriend, dumped her body in a gunny bag and was trying to dispose it of along with his mother and two associates, was caught by the locals and handed over to the police in the early hours of Monday.
“At 4 am, we spotted a man, Ahmed Salam, his mother Ayesha and two youth rushing towards Bismillah Colony Nala, holding a gunny bag. As we approached them, we were shocked to see a leg protruding from the bag, which confirmed that they were disposing of a body. We immediately dialled 100,” Salam’s neighbour disclosed.
ACP D. Pradeep Kumar Reddy said the accused, Salam, a waiter at a function hall, on Sunday night allegedly murdered his girlfriend Rehana Begum, 21, by stabbing and strangling her in the presence of his mother Ayesha. Later they dumped the victim’s body in a gunny bag and planned to get rid of it during early hours.
After residents spotted them, the accused managed to flee, leaving the body close to their house in Bismillah Colony. However, Salam was chased by the residents, who caught him while he was trying to escape by climbing a wall. Ayesha panicked and went into her house and latched the door from inside.
The police beat patrol reached the spot and they with the help of residents, chased and arrested Salam’s associates and Ayesha, who is the eyewitness of the case. She confessed that her son murdered Rehana. She wanted to get rid of the body and then escape to their native place, Patna in Bihar.
During the investigation, Balapur police discovered that the victim Rehana, also a native of Patna and Salam worked in the same function hall and they fell in love with each other and reportedly had physical relations for the past one year.
Rehana, for the past three weeks, was insisting Salam to marry her. Salam learnt that she had allegedly developed physical relations with another person. In order to get rid of her, Salam hatched a plan and called her to his house and attacked her with a knife and strangled her. After making sure that she died, he dumped the body in a gunny bag, police sources disclosed.
After receiving information, ACP Reddy, along with Balapur SHO, Sudhakar and CLUES TEAMS rushed to the crime scene. The victim’s body has been shifted to OGH hospital for postmortem.
