Telangana: Labourer Dies After Stick Attack
Bhandari sustained severe head injuries and was shifted to Gandhi Hospital, where he died while undergoing treatment on Saturday.

Hyderabad: A 35-year-old labourer died after being assaulted with a stick during a dispute in Subhash Nagar, Pet Basheerabad, on Friday.
Police said the deceased, Dattu Bhandari, a native of Gulbarga taluk in Karnataka, was attacked near the Monday Market area around 4 pm on January 2.
According to Inspector Vijayvardhan, the accused, B. Rajashekhar, also a labourer and a native of Andhra Pradesh, hit Bhandari on the head with a stick following repeated personal disputes. Both men were living separately from their wives.
Investigators said Rajashekhar had grown resentful after Bhandari allegedly made repeated derogatory remarks about his wife. “There had been several earlier instances where the deceased insulted the accused’s wife. On Friday, after another argument, the accused picked up a stick lying nearby and assaulted him,” the Inspector said.
Bhandari sustained severe head injuries and was shifted to Gandhi Hospital, where he died while undergoing treatment on Saturday.
Based on a complaint lodged by the deceased’s sister, Indira, police registered a case of murder. The accused was apprehended near Jeedimetla and produced before a court.
The body was sent for autopsy at Gandhi Hospital and later handed over to the family. Police said Bhandari is survived by two daughters. Further investigation is underway.
