Telangana: Kishan dares Revanth, KCR for debate on central funds

Kishan Reddy claimed the Centre has consistently supported the state. He said funds have been released for sanitation in gram panchayats, the construction of Rythu Vedikas and the development of graveyards.

Hyderabad: Telangana BJP president and Union minister G. Kishan Reddy on Friday said that the Congress had betrayed the voters who brought it to power after being disappointed with BRS chief K. Chandrashekar Rao always putting family interests ahead of those of the state.

Campaigning for party candidates in the Legislative Council elections in Sangareddy, Kishan Reddy claimed that the Congress government began facing anti-incumbency within just 10 months due to its “anti-people” policies, including its failure to fill vacant government jobs, particularly teacher posts. He accused the government of not releasing dearness allowance for employees, failing to constitute a pay revision commission and neglecting pension benefits for retired employees.

Kishan Reddy alleged that Congress had deceived unemployed youth by promising to issue regular job notifications and a fixed job calendar but failed to deliver. “They can’t even whitewash school buildings, let alone construct new ones or provide necessary infrastructure,” he said.

Urging MLC voters to support BJP candidates, Kishan Reddy highlighted the Centre’s contributions to Telangana. He cited initiatives such as an industrial park in Zaheerabad, a coach factory in Kazipet, a mega textile park in Warangal and Rs 2,300 per quintal support price for farmers. He also pointed to subsidies on fertilizers, the establishment of AIIMS and ESI Medical College, and improved national highways and railway networks in all 33 districts.

Challenging Revanth Reddy and Chandrashekar Rao to a debate on central funds allocated to Telangana over the last decade, Kishan Reddy claimed the Centre has consistently supported the state. He said funds have been released for sanitation in gram panchayats, the construction of Rythu Vedikas and the development of graveyards.
