Telangana: Kadiam Srihari Urges Government To Withdraw GO 97
Telangana should continue the existing system of polytechnic education followed across the country: Former deputy chief minister Kadiam Srihari
STATION GHANPUR (JANGAON): Station Ghanpur MLA and former deputy chief minister Kadiam Srihari has urged the Telangana government to withdraw GO 97 concerning polytechnic education.
Speaking to the media at his office after releasing irrigation water to the ayacut from the Station Ghanpur reservoir on Saturday, Srihari said polytechnic students were opposing the move to bring their education under the labour department instead of the engineering department.
He said the government’s intention might be well-founded, but students were not in agreement with the decision. Considering their concerns about their future, the government should reconsider and withdraw GO 97, he said.
Srihari said Telangana should continue the existing system of polytechnic education followed across the country.
“As a former education minister, I have a clear view on the issue. I specifically urge the Chief Minister and the state government to consider the students’ concerns and withdraw GO 97,” Srihari said.
He appealed to the government to take a favourable decision keeping the future of students in mind.
