Telangana Intermediate Board announces exam dates; students to appear between Feb 25 and Mar 18.

Hyderabad: The Telangana Intermediate Public Examinations (IPE) 2026 will be held from February 25 to March 18, with practical exams starting in the first week of February. Speaking to the media on Saturday, S. Krishna Aditya, secretary, Board of Intermediate Education, said the government has approved the schedule, which will be released shortly. The fee payment process for the exams will begin in the first week of November.
Aditya said last year’s practical exams were monitored through CCTV cameras and that surveillance will be made even more stringent this year. He added that subject committees comprising professors, senior faculty and junior college teachers will revisit each chapter in line with NCERT standards and include updated topics. “The revision will begin soon, and by April-end or early May, new-edition textbooks with better quality, non-tearable paper will be available,” he said.
According to the Board, science textbooks—Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology and Mathematics (A & B)—were last revised in 2013–14 for first-year students and 2014–15 for second-year students. Arts subjects such as Economics, Civics, Commerce, History, Public Administration and Geography were revised in 2019–20 for the first year and 2020–21 for the second.
English under Part I was updated in 2021–22 for the first year and 2022–23 for the second. Among second languages under Part II, Urdu, Sanskrit, Arabic and Hindi were last revised in 2018–19 and 2019–20, while Telugu was revised in 2020–21 and 2021–22.
The secretary said that separate mathematics papers will be set for the MPC and MEC streams, as the MPC version is considered tougher for MEC students. Internal assessment will be introduced from the first year in all subjects to promote practical and experiential learning, he added.
