Telangana: Hospital Suppliers Halt Aarogyasri Supplies Over Dues

Repeated requests for release of payments had not received a response: Twin Cities Hospitals Suppliers Association

HYDERABAD: Suppliers to government hospitals in Hyderabad have stopped supplying critical medical equipment, surgical items and drugs under the Rajiv Aarogyasri scheme. They said payments have been pending for nearly two years.

The Twin Cities Hospitals Suppliers Association, in a letter to the director of medical education, said repeated requests for release of payments had not received a response.

Members supply cathlab stents and accessories to Osmania General Hospital and surgical items and medicines to Gandhi Hospital, Osmania and other government hospitals. One member also submitted a representation to the Osmania Superintendent seeking stoppage of supplies over pending dues.

Suppliers said they will not resume supplies under Aarogyasri until payments are cleared. They sought immediate intervention from the health department and the Aarogyasri Health Care Trust.

According to them, payments to hospitals under the scheme have not been made for two years. The association urged the health minister, principal secretary of health, DME and CEO of Aarogyasri Trust to act immediately.

Suppliers warned that continued delay could affect the supply of essential medical equipment, surgical items and medicines to government hospitals.
