Telangana High Court Overrules Registry, Says No Need for Bank Details in PIL Title
At the stage of scrutiny, the registry raised objections directing the petitioner to mention bank account details in the cause title and wherever necessary.

Hyderabad:The Telangana High Court has overruled objections raised by its Registry in relation to a public interest litigation (PIL) filed seeking comprehensive road safety reforms across the state. The PIL sought a writ of mandamus declaring the continued failure of various state agencies to address poor road conditions, potholes, inadequate signage, defective road engineering, lack of enforcement and administrative inaction as illegal.
The petitioner contended that such systemic failures had resulted in an alarming rise in fatal road accidents and sought multiple consequential directions, including road safety audits, enforcement of statutory standards, institutional mechanisms under the Motor Vehicles Act, accountability of erring officials and periodic compliance reporting by authorities such as the roads and buildings department and the GHMC.
The respondents arrayed include the Union ministry of road transport and highways, state departments concerned including roads, transport, municipal administration, police, GHMC and the Telangana Road Transport Corporation.
At the stage of scrutiny, the registry raised objections directing the petitioner to mention bank account details in the cause title and wherever necessary.
Senior counsel L. Ravichander, assisted by Absar Ahmed, opposed the objection, submitting that disclosure of bank account details in the cause title would lead to such sensitive personal information being uploaded on the High Court website, thereby entering the public domain and posing serious risks to the privacy and security of the petitioner.
